Hidden meaning…

bananaspotlight

…I was doodling again and realised that this drawing may confuse some people who cannot fathom the hidden meaning behind this rather momentous piece of art.

I could regurgitate a montribal spew using words like juxtaposition, unrealised potential and dichotomous tension.

But in the end it’s just a naked man in a spotlight with a banana hanging over his head (you can see it full size at my flickr page).

Weather report – Portugal…

windy climb

…blustery doesn’t quite cut it when trying to describe the last 24 hours on the west coast of Portugal. To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised to see a cow fly past the window.

Unfortunately this has turned the sea into a seething mass of white angriness reducing my wavecount for the week to single figures. Luckily (?) this will give my recent (courtesy of Ryan Air) sinus hemorrhage time to heal – a fairly disgusting and traumatic ordeal that has somehow diminished my previous love for low-budget airlines.

I didn’t surf today – but I did have time to do a doodle (more at Flickr)

Been a bit busy lately…

… so my apologies for a lack of posts in a Papersurfer style. Apart from all the intercontinental canoodling antics with the deliciously beautiful Tango (grrr) – I’ve been up to my excessively pierced ears in CSS building a bunch of websites. First up is the Emporium – just a notepad for my WordPress and CSS discoveries – anything that I think may be useful (to loonies like myself who want to make their own blogs that is…).

You can find that by clicking here.

Also I’ve been whittling an online portfolio called GTZero for myself and Tiggz to share our graphical output with the universe at large.

That can be found by clicking here. There are wallpapers, PC themes and icon sets available for free download. I will also be uploading a few WordPress themes in the near future for public consumption…

Both sites are in beta so apologies for any howling errors or graphical misconduct.

I can’t remember…

kissing in the rain

…the last time I sent a Valentines card – not because I don’t agree with the commercialisation of yet another religious/pagan/historical character or event or because I have some inate fear of expressing my innermost emotional turmoil through the medium of cardboard – I just haven’t met anyone over the last few years that’s blown any smoke up my skirt…

But life has a knack for throwing things around corners when you’re really not looking up. I ‘drew’ the picture above as my first ever e-Valentines card. The recipient is exceedingly smart, very funny and utterly gorgeous and I hope she likes snogging at bus stops in the rain…

One good thing…

penfold sandwich

…about living up a mountain – when travelling to work I don’t have to sit on a crowded tube train wedged in between Mr and Mrs Wittering from Dribbleton in East Bollockhamshire.

Excited and just a little bit scared…

burning skull

…tomorrow afternoon I’m going into a tattoo studio for the first session on the large piece on my back.

Anybody who tries to tell you that it doesn’t hurt – is simply not telling the truth! It really does hurt – quite alot. Dragging vibrating needles through your skin dowsed in ink till you bleed profusely can’t be anything other than painful. So by this time tomorrow I expect to be blubbing my eyes out like a tiny newborn infant – that is of course the sign of a real man…

Why do I do it? Not sure really – I don’t have tattoos particularly to show them off – I’d rather wear a long T-shirt than a classic Aussie ‘wife-beater’. I find people that blare their tats to the world wearing revealing clothes in inappropriate weather just to get their badly drawn flaming skulls out quite peculiar. For me they’re more private – an individual thing for me to have and maybe for others to discover…

The picture I did above is for my mother – so she knows what to expect next time she sees me…
